So i haven't been working too much on drawings the last 2 months. I was busy job hunting, but now that i've finally got some disposable income, i've been feeling more motivated to start working on my creative endeavors again while off work. I've already finished and uploaded a piece I was making for a friend of one of her characters, and I plan to get back to working on Zenith State.

For reference, here's where that's at currently. Not much has been done between now and the last blog, though i'll be working on this a lot while i'm off work now that Juno's finished.

I may work on a group piece with multiple different characters after this one's done.

I've been writing design documents in a journal of mine lately for a novel adaptation of my story, and it'd be nice to put these characters to paper and have designs down for them. It'll be a revised continuity based on the story of my RPs, so there will be some differences with some characters (and it'll be set near the beginning of the story, so i'll have an opportunity to draw characters like Otto, a younger Cyclone, BB, Ten, Cain, Goro & Madoka, etc.).

I got bored and shoved my last drawing of Suppressed Burn into Stable Diffusion to see what it came up with (i've been using the tool a bit as free reference material since it basically generates free commission art), and it turned into a pissing match. I got annoyed that the AI came up with a better head and hair shape, so I went back and 1-UP'd the AI.

The first one is the previous drawing, the second is what Stable Diffusion made, and the third is the heavy corrections drawn again in my current art style.

I wasn't looking to really change the arm (the design it came up with is neat, but it doesn't look robotic enough), i was just focused on updating the entire head and hair and trying to hold myself to a better standard. I'll be updating the previous piece with this current revision since I bothered to go back and redraw it.

If there's a lesson here, its that if AI art is going to exist, use it to improve yourself.

PS: I'm half tempted to do this now with Saito, I get pretty motivated when I'm mad.

I haven't felt comfortable using black heavy lines for shading in a while, but its supposed to have a more serious tone, so it works in this context. It gives me an excuse though to finally practice drawing wider outlines in areas.

I got into a dick measuring contest with my friend over which of our characters is stronger, and now I'm giving Burn a new form above his Ascended State (called "Zenith State") that's just fucking ripped as shit. He's currently training in the main story to become one of Kosha's shinigami so he can start being of some use again (he's not a real big fan of this "rest in peace" shit), and he along with a few of his comrades are currently learning to use a new form of energy and an ability called a "Focus" in order to shorten the gap in power/hax between themselves and godly beings.

Since he's already dead and chilling in the afterlife, I don't feel THAT guilty making him more busted since his stuff isn't ever going to really conflict anymore with what goes on in the living world. A lot of my deceased characters have been getting these sorts of buffs anyways and Burn in particular has already been training constantly for as long as he's been dead since he's trying to surpass the strongest fighter in Kosha's realm, Jigoku (she's Burn's ancestor and a former tyrant), so this power up feels pretty justified.

He's gonna be throwing off his torn up gi when this is done, and I may make this drawing my YouTube banner image.

Man, i really need to get this done soon. I haven't drawn any women in ages and I want to see how much my art has improved since I drew my friend's Naruto OC. I may draw Seige and her opposite Vortex. Her name is said the same way you'd say "Siege", I'm just an idiot who doesn't read enough books. If i ever go about novelizing my works, I'll be sure to use the proper spelling, but the current wording is sort of cemented atm in my RPs.

As an exercise, i'm drawing my character Burn standing off against a friend's OC.

I'm deciding whether I want Burn to be shirtless in this piece, or if i should throw him in his gi.

Currently working on a new iteration of Suppressed Burn for later on in my story.

I've gone ahead and streamlined the hair further while adding much needed weight to it. I also figured it made sense to transition him back into a tanktop (which harkons back to his life prior to his time as king when he was alive). The whole story behind the indigo colored gi was that it was repurposed ceremonial clothing, which he would wear while going into battle.

At this point in the story, he's been dead for a while and has been training a lot in the afterlife so he can be promoted to one of X's shinigami. Doing so will give him some freedom to leave Kosha's realm and partake in missions outside the afterlife. It would make sense that he'd eventually transition back into something more comfortable than the gi. He still doesn't wear shoes though, he's just too used to fighting barefoot at this point.

There will be two variants of this when its done: both one with and without the additional scars.

I'm planning on returning my RP community to some extent on Roblox (since its where it first started), so i'm working on a new piece for Burn's Ascended State that I can use for a morph decal.

I've taken some criticisms in mind while drawing this (namely, i've gotten complaints from one of my friends that the hair didn't look natural enough in the back and that the coloring for the metal prosthetic looked wrong), so I've been trying to clean up the look a bit.

This last semester is basically just my internship, my graduation project and a single course, so I've got time to draw again. I've been drawing my character Scorch along with his alter ego Vandal, and its nearly done.

I may take a shot at trying to draw a background for this piece. Background art isn't really a strong suit of mine, but I've been pretty confident throughout this piece, so I'm feeling ballsy.

The posing reminds me a lot of an older piece i did with Goku Black and Zamasu, and its pretty cool to think of how far i've come since then. I've still got a lot of areas to improve in, but its nice that my art is finally competent.
